Brief Description of Research ProjectThe research team aimed to identify the best approaches for analyzing whether P3s outperform conventional projects in terms of O&M performance within the context of long-term transportation asset management. This objective has been achieved through the following research goals:
1. Collaborate with the Canadian province to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for long-term O&M periods of large transportation infrastructure projects.
2. Conduct an extensive review of existing literature and industry practices concerning KPIs applicable to long-term O&M phases in significant transportation infrastructure projects.
3. Identify a set of KPIs that can effectively facilitate a fair and comprehensive evaluation of O&M performance in P3s compared to traditionally delivered transportation projects.
