Brief Description of Research ProjectThe purpose of this project is to evaluate the use of silane emulsion to prevent strength loss due to water adsorption and improve the durability and freeze-thaw resistance of recycled aggregate concrete (RCA). It is the hypothesis of this project that the surface treated RCA can be utilized to design high-quality, freeze-thaw-resistant pavement concrete and reduce maintenance needs and costs of transportation infrastructure.
