Brief Description of Research Project | The purpose of this project is to evaluate the use of silane emulsion to prevent strength loss due to water adsorption and improve the durability and freeze-thaw resistance of recycled aggregate concrete (RCA). It is the hypothesis of this project that the surface treated RCA can be utilized to design high-quality, freeze-thaw-resistant pavement concrete and reduce maintenance needs and costs of transportation infrastructure. |
